Dr. Mouw at last year's service
The 2012-2013 academic year at Fuller will be ushered in with the Festival of Beginnings on Wednesday, September 26, a seminary tradition in which the Fuller community gathers to celebrate the start of a new year.
All students, faculty, alumni, staff, and friends of Fuller are invited to the event, which begins with a 10:00 a.m. worship service at the First United Methodist Church (one block south of the Pasadena campus), followed by an outdoor reception at 11:00 a.m. on the Arol Burns Mall in the center of campus.
Richard J. Mouw, beginning his twentieth and final year as president of Fuller, will speak at the worship service on the seminary’s 2012-2013 theme, “More Than We Can Ask or Imagine,” based on Ephesians 3:14-21. The Fuller faculty will process at the event in full academic regalia.
Also present at the Festival of Beginnings will be members of Fuller’s classes of 1961, 1962, and 1963, gathering in Pasadena to celebrate their 50th reunion.
Following the worship service will be a time for mingling on the campus mall, with light refreshments provided.
All Festival of Beginnings events are free and open to the public. First United Methodist Church is located at 500 East Colorado Blvd., Pasadena 91101. (From the Hubbard Library, walk south on Oakland Ave. one block to Colorado.)
