Fuller Theological Seminary announced on February 26 that it
has hired a new Vice President for Seminary Development, effective March 4,
2013.
Jon Yasuda joins Fuller’s Office of Development from
Opportunity International, where he served as senior vice president and interim
CEO. He holds a BA in economics from the University of California at Los
Angeles, after which he spent 25 years in the broadcasting industry,
culminating in the role of president and CEO of Asian Media Group.
“Jon comes to the position with an extensive background in
strategic planning and resource development,” said Fuller’s Provost C. Doug
McConnell. “We are pleased to have him assume this important position of
leadership.”
Yasuda and his wife have had wonderful ties to Fuller
Theological Seminary prior to his hiring. He and his wife have two daughters,
one of whom graduated from Fuller’s School of Psychology. Their other daughter
married an MDiv graduate.
Yasuda fills a role that was vacated in November and will
serve on the President’s Cabinet and Provost’s Council. He will oversee all
functions of the Office of Development, which is vital to the revenue
generating ability of the seminary.
