Justin Barrett, director of Fuller Seminary’s Thrive Center for Human Development in the School of Psychology, is leading an online
discussion of his essay published on Big Questions Online, a
publication of the John Templeton
Foundation.
Big Questions Online
aims to explore big questions of human purpose and ultimate reality and foster
thoughtful discussion. The website publishes an essay by a leading author or
expert in a field, and then invites readers to join an online discussion with
the author. Readers post comments and the author can respond.
Dr Barrett’s essay “Are We Born Believing in God?” addresses
the question of whether we are born with an inclination toward belief in God.
It is based on his recent book “Born
Believers: The Science of Children’s Religious Belief.”
Barrett was chosen to write the essay because of his
expertise in this field. He is recognized as leader in the field of the
cognitive science of religion, the Big Questions’ Editor said. This is a great
opportunity to engage directly with an expert.
Everyone is invited to join in the discussion, which will be
open until midnight Monday, March 11.
