Fuller Seminary is excited to announce a special partnership with Newbigin House of Studies as they launch The Newbigin Year. A cohort-based, part-time, distance learning program that makes seminary education more accessible than ever before, The Newbigin Year allows students of Newbigin House of Studies to participate in seminary courses as they pursue their calling into ministry. The Newbigin Year consists of four core courses that guide students through theological and spiritual preparation for ministry in a variety of urban contexts. It is particularly designed to be a year of discernment for students who are considering seminary and/or a call to ministry.

“At Newbigin House of Studies, we believe that the future of theological education for globalized mission requires partnerships,” said Scot Sherman, executive director of The Newbigin House “We’re excited to join Fuller in developing leaders for ministries in cities around the world.”

Key features of the year include:

  • Flexible online course work
  • Two face-to-face intensives in San Francisco (August & January)
  • Mentoring relationships with pastor-scholars
  • A diverse cohort with participants in various life and career stages from all over North America

“So many of the seminary bound students we work with have Fuller in their future plans. We are privileged through this partnership to help students in their vocational discernment and journey to seminary,” said Peter Choi, director of academic programs at Newbigin House of Studies.

After completing The Newbigin Year, students who wish to continue their theological education may have their course work evaluated for credit towards master's degree programs in theology at Fuller Seminary.
