This March, the Brehm Center for Worship, Theology, and the Arts was awarded five “Editor’s Choice” awards from JW Pepper, the largest and most influential church and school music distributor in the country. Ed Willmington, the director of the Fred Bock Institute of Music, submitted five compositions to the competition, including work by Fuller graduates Julie Kang Tai and Esther Kim, who began composing their award-winning work while in Fuller’s All-Seminary Chapel internship program.
The compositions were submitted through the Brehm New Music Initiative, a new project that "has helped us develop more resources at a high level of quality,” Dr. Willmington says. “I believe that we are now starting to see some of the major fruits of this extra commitment made by Bill and Dee Brehm," whose funding made this new initiative possible. We join them in celebrating this achievement and look forward to hearing more new music coming from the Brehm Center.
