This position works with the Alumni and Church Relations (ACR) team, to collect and enter data into multiple systems including Banner and iModules, to assure accurate data for mailing lists as well as ongoing communication with constituents of Fuller. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of new policies and procedures for the office, working in close partnership the Data Specialist in ACR and Special Projects Coordinator to ensure coverage of data needs for ACR as well as non-Banner Management Committee (BMC) departments that need to enter and maintain data with cross-departmental value (e.g. Vocation & Formation).

Essential Functions

  • Enters data into multiple systems, identifying inconsistencies and bringing proposed solutions to BMC
  • Documents and maintains procedures manual, assists in developing and implementing proposed data entry policies and procedures
  • Assists with training ACR staff and other (new) seminary employees who use the Advancement module of Banner (or iModules) as necessary
  • Networks with other Banner schools, identifies problem areas and contacts the Database Manager and/or Ellucian for resolution, attending annual training conferences and/or workshops
  • Collaborates with Development, Registrar, and other offices as needed to problem solve and enhance ability to utilize Banner software program as well as iModules and other software used in the daily work of the office
  • Creates new records in Banner for individuals (non-student) and organizations not currently in the system
  • Identifies duplicate PIDM’s, working with the offices appropriate to clean and/or delete
  • Updates data as new information becomes available and ensures accuracy of those records updated by the constituent
  • Serves as point person for on-line directory in regards to data and trains staff in use of new software and systems as necessary
  • Represents ACR on various task groups or committees as requested
  • Responsible for identifying any issues with the new grad roll-over and the non-degreed alum rollover processes on a regular basis
  • Participates as member of the Alumni and Church Relations team
  • Other duties/projects as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • At least three years data experience required, knowledge of Banner system preferred
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (or equivalent) required
  • Willingness to learn to use standardized reports to check work and to better understand and define data entry standards
  • Proven organizational skills, initiative, follow-through and the ability to meet deadlines
  • A team player with friendly, diplomatic people skills and the ability to problem solve
  • Must be attentive to detail and be willing to ask questions as needed
  • Must enjoy routine and derive satisfaction from consistent accuracy of details
