Description

The Records Assistant assists and supports the activities of the staff of the Registrar’s Office through a variety of tasks and projects, including organizing, retrieving, and filing records of various kinds, data entry, problem investigation, research of various kinds, and joining in shared activities such as front desk coverage.

Essential Functions

  • Locating and retrieving paper records
  • Sorting and organizing paper records quickly and accurately in a variety of ways
  • Filing paper records quickly and accurately
  • Using computer programs to access and update student information of various kinds
  • Performing research tasks involving locating, identifying, sorting, and summarizing information of various kinds
  • Assisting in various service functions of the Registrar’s Office, such as front desk coverage (answering phone, answering questions, producing ID cards, accepting and processing petitions and petition responses, processing paper registrations, providing Fuller login support, directing people to campus offices and events, etc.)

Requirements

  • Qualify for federal work-study for 15 hours per week (average) for 12 months
  • Two years of office experience, preferably in a records environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good typing and computer skills (Apple experience preferred)
  • Must be able to organize tasks and work well with a minimum of supervision
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Able to work well with constant interruptions
  • Able to sort in alphabetical order quickly and easily and with extreme accuracy
  • Able to work with handwritten, partially legible records
  • Able to read, write, and communicate well in English; conversational fluency in Korean and/or Spanish is desirable
  • Skills and aptitude for dealing with difficult people and difficult situations with grace and tact
  • Able to work well with people in a multicultural environment

Must be eligible for Federal Work Study. Federal Work-Study positions are open only to qualified U.S. Citizens and permanent residents whose eligibility to participate in the Work-Study program has been determined in advance by the seminary's Student Financial Services office
