The Admissions Communications Manager supports Fuller’s mission by serving a broad population in relation to the seminary: inquirers, prospective students and applicants. S/he is directly involved in implementing and evaluating the ethos and etiquette of how the Admissions Office serves prospective students and the broader Fuller community. The goal of the Communications Manager is to develop a communications plan for the Office of Admissions and Prospective Fuller Students that includes email, website, online, print, and digital communications, as well as Prospective Student events on the Pasadena campus.

Essential Functions

Communications, Online, and Media Management

  • Develop and maintain a consistent and clear communication and marketing plan for prospective students and applicants through online and digital communications
  • Work with the Application Processing Team to enhance communication tactics and styles to applicants and accepted students
  • Enhance inquiry forms on our website and on partner websites
  • Work with Regional Campuses to enhance communication plans
  • Create an email campaign to prospective students with information on deadlines, programs and upcoming prospective student events
  • Create designed email templates for all Admissions emails including prospective student emails, applicant, and accepted student emails
  • Manage Admissions pages on the Fuller Website including redesign, readability enhancements and language
  • Manage social media outlets with the help of IMC. Produce creative content for Admissions through all social media channels
  • Enhance our website usage with Google analytics and performance evaluations
  • Creative implementations of promotions for events using various mediums
  • Work with IMC to develop promotional giveaways and materials for prospective students
  • Create an Admissions related blog with information on Fuller, programs, and events. Recruit, train, and manage bloggers as main creative director for posts and content
  • Manage office inventory for all marketing materials, prospective student materials, flyers, handouts and mailings. Insure all marketing materials are displayed and available
  • Manage and implement our Live Chat system. Trouble shoot issues, work with the technology, train staff, and manage data
  • Manage online databases and schools listings that feature Fuller. Manage budget for listings, edit online listings, and keep Fuller's online presence up to date
  • Help manage Fuller's Facebook App with content, and email invites.
  • Develop materials for new technology as needed and enhance capabilities for online chat, voice, and video calls
  • Liaison to the office of Integrated Marketing Communication on behalf of the Office of Admissions for all matters of communication and marketing to prospective students
  • Liaison to Web Support for website errors including content management, spelling errors and broken links

Prospective Student Events

  • Lead a team of four staff members for the planning, overseeing and executing of Prospective Student events. These events will be held during daytime and nighttime hours, including weekends
  • Duties will include leading team meetings, delegating various tasks, creating vision for events, facilitating surveys, implementing improvements and new ideas, and carrying out all tasks needed for each event
  • Manage and track event registration including email and phone communication with all registered prospective students
  • Update and maintain the Prospective Student Events online calendar and event websites through the web content management system
  • Continue to creatively develop Prospective Student events, creating new events, updated media and videos, and advertising
  • Develop relationships with Fuller faculty and staff for greater participation and assistance in prospective student events
  • Create prospective student events for other offices such as Brehm Center, IDL, etc.
  • Manage the Events budget and spending for all Prospective Student events

Other Prospective Student Operations

  • Manage, train, support, and recruit Fuller Ambassadors to be used for Prospective Student events, campus visits, and alumni support
  • Liaison to Alumni office for student crossover integration
  • Occasionally (as needed and available) represent Fuller at recruitment events and meet with prospective students if an Admissions Counselor is not available
  • Maintain and schedule Friday morning training and devotional staff development time
  • Maintain and schedule staff development through birthdays and recognition parties

Prospective Student Liaison Manager

  • Supervise a full-time Lead Admissions Liaison employee who will cover the front desk of the Admissions office and respond to a high volume of incoming phone calls, emails, letters and inquiries, disseminate literature, compose individualized correspondence, answer questions, and provide information regarding all programs and degrees. The Lead Admissions Liaison will also help with web development and event coordination
  • Supervise a team of employees consisting of four work-study positions. These work-study positions will help prospective students via email, phone and other communications at the front desk, as well as assist with event production and coordination, staff development, and other marketing liaison tasks
  • Help manage daily shifts for consistent front-desk coverage. Manage and approve employee time cards
  • Hire new student employees when necessary. Work with Human Recourses to post job listing. Communicate with all applicants, schedule interviews and follow-up meetings with selected applicants. Interview and hire selected applicants
  • Train new employees. Create and update a new employee packet with information on the Admissions office and all Fuller programs and schools. Train new employees on in-person, phone and email etiquette. Train new employees on SRM and other computer programs, all office work and file management
  • Train current employees. Implement and manage information and technology changes, training and development with current employees


  • Bachelor's degree required with preference to Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • Graduate work or Fuller degree preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years job experience
  • Customer service and event production experience preferred
  • Admissions office experience preferred
  • Management experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team as well as independently
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with experience in communicating personally and in a digital market including high preference to email campaigns and social media
  • Preferred skills in Photoshop, InDesign, or other design oriented programs
  • Preferred skills in web editing through HTML, Dreamweaver, or Ektron
  • Preferred skills in data management through Excel, Google Analytics, and Salesforce
  • Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, highly diversified environment
  • Possess a pleasant and helpful manner of communication
  • Knowledge of a seminary's organization and operation, and connection preferred
  • Computer (word processing, excel, database) experience preferred
  • Ability to filter incoming inquiries to be answered or distributed appropriately
  • Provide mature responses to spiritual and theological inquiries
  • Articulate Fuller's "voice" and represent the "face of Fuller"
