Few people understand the harsh realities of war like Joshua Nador
(MAGL candidate). Growing up in Liberia, Nador witnessed the devastating and
traumatic effects of a brutal 14 year civil war between the government headed
by Charles Taylor and rebel forces.
Instead of identifying himself as a victim of this trauma, Nador
identifies as an intercessor seeking to bring reconciliation and hope. He
shares, “In a situation of war there is no sense of responsibility…I want more
young people to understand this, to make the right choices and not live day by
day.”
In 2006 Nador started an intercessory ministry to develop and
mobilize fellow Christians in Liberia. It was during this period he felt a
calling to raise up a new generation of leaders.
This calling inspired Nador to study leadership through Fuller’s
Master of Arts in Global Leadership program. Since enrolling, he feels the
classes and his cohort had a “tremendous impact” on his ministry and transformed
his perspective on leadership.
It is this perspective that Nador shares through seminars with
other pastors. Working together, he hopes they can promote reconciliation and
revival for the nation.
Looking towards the future, he envisions “a new generation of
Liberian Christian leaders who are impassioned by unflinching love for God and
his people, burdened by a need for transformation, and propelled by a thirst
for revival.”
The
support Nador receives through his scholarship allows him to continue his
studies. He wants donors to know “God is working in different places and
contexts through the Fuller community. It is not just about sending money or
books but equipping leaders for God’s work.”
