Rev. Dr. Yongbom Lee is currently serving as the English Ministry pastor at Los Angeles Antioch Presbyterian Church (Montrose, CA) and has been teaching as an adjunct faculty member for Fuller California Coast since 2011. He is an ordained Baptist minister (Transformation Ministries) and a bilingual speaker (English; Korean).
He grew up in South Korea but came to the States for higher education. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Near Eastern Studies (1999) and a M.A. in Classical Greek (2001). After serving in South Korean Army (2001–3), he graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary with a M.Div. (2006). During his study at Fuller, he was elected as All Seminary Council President and served the seminary community in 2005–6. After Fuller, he went to Bristol, UK, to study under Reverend Professor John Nolland at Trinity College, Bristol, who is the author of Word Biblical Commentary series on Luke (1989; 1993) and New International Greek Testament Commentary on Matthew (2005).
His research interests include Paul’s use of the Scriptures, the Jesus-Paul debate, New Testament Christology, and Second Temple Judaism. A part of his Ph.D. dissertation was published as The Son of Man as the Last Adam: The Early Church Tradition as a Source of Paul’s Adam Christology (Eugene: PICKWICK, 2012).
His lovely wife Diana whom he met at Fuller is currently a Ph.D. student in Hispanic Studies Department at the University of California at Riverside. His weekly sermons are available at iTunes Store (search “yongbomlee”).
