Russell Bloem is vice president for enrollment management at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, Russ is responsible for undergraduate student recruiting, admissions, and financial aid at this 4,000-student Christian liberal arts institution.
Prior to joining Calvin, Russ spent over 30 years working in the pharmaceutical industry, beginning as a research chemist with Parke-Davis in 1977. Over the course of this career, he held a wide range of business development, marketing, sales, and general management positions in the United States and throughout the Asia-Pacific region. He retired as Senior Vice President of US Pharmaceutical Operations for Bristol-Myers Squibb in 2009.
Russ holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Calvin College (1975), a Master of Science in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Michigan (1977), and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Michigan (1983).
