If you’ve found your way to this page, you’re probably interested in some form of ministry involving Asian Americans (which focuses on post-immigrant generations from East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Pacific Islanders). You might be from an Asian American background yourself. Or maybe you or someone you’re guiding is already active in some form of Asian American ministry. Whether you’re trying to discern God’s call on your life or you’ve already figured that out, there’s never been a better time for those called to Asian American ministry to come to Fuller.
Fuller has historically attracted large numbers of Asian American graduate students, but a recent development now makes it even more compelling for you to enroll in Fuller: the Asian American Initiative. Under the leadership of Executive Director Ken Fong and Associate Director Daniel D. Lee, this new initiative will expand your awareness of Asian Americans' unique contributions and challenges in being Christians, provide intellectual and leadership resources relevant to these contexts, and foster meaningful conversations around the related issues.
The Asian American Initiative will offer classes and formation groups specifically tailored to equip you with conceptual resources and leadership approaches -- viewed through the overlapping lenses of Asian heritage, immigration, American culture, and racialization.
All of this is to fuel AAI’s vision:
Raising up capable Christian leaders
who will embody God’s disruptive grace, express it in community, and creatively engage the world with it as servants of God’s Spirit
to reach the emerging generation of Asian Americans amidst daunting global changes and challenges
