Fuller Observes Day of Prayer

Chapel was held on the Arol-Burns Mall in a service dedicated to prayer

Dr Joy Moore Day of Prayer

Each year during the Fall quarter, Fuller Theological Seminary pauses for a day dedicated to prayer. While all of life is lived in the presence of God in an ongoing dialogue of prayer, it seems fitting for a theological seminary to set aside some time for intentional reflection, active listening, and purposeful prayer.

Today's chapel service was an opportunity to listen to Scripture and to pray together both in song and in silence. The Rev. Dr. Joy Moore invited those gathered to the Lord's Table. We sang hymns and listened to Scripture readings from Psalm 130. Dr. Scott Sunquist, dean of the School of Intercultural Studies, concluded the time of worship by offering prayers for human slavery, violence in homes and schools, and the situation of Christians in Malaysia.

Stations are set up around Pasadena's campus for continued prayer until 1:00 p.m. For suggestions of prayer needs around the world, click here to see the Fuller Global Update.
