"Outside the (united) church is no salvation"

In this presentation he will do three things:

  1. Reflecting on the previous two moderator's colloquia, he will argue that the "liturgical-missional" conversation embodies a wrestling with the deficit of Protestant ecclesiology, namely, the disconnect between "church" and "salvation";
  2. He will propose an alternative, authentically Protestant interpretation of the "extra ecclesiam nulla salus" which preserves the essential relationship between church and salvation;
  3. He will make a series of suggestions about what such essential relationship between church and salvation means for American mainline denominations, congregations, and theological education of candidates for ordination.
