Andrew Myers

Andy Myers– Adjunct Assistant Professor

Andy Myers is both a Fuller MA in Global Leadership (MAGL, 2010) and a Doctor of Intercultural Studies graduate (DIS, 2015). Andy has also served as a Teaching Assistant in the MAGL cohort sequence course, Adult Leadership Development, where he excelled both in the students' eyes and ours!  Andy trained in the DMiss under the guidance of Dr. Mark Hopkins, Director of the DMiss, as well as Alan Weaver, a seasoned Module 2 Affiliate professor. All of this means that Andy is well-versed in the structure and ethos of the program, and is now a valued part of the DMiss/DIS teaching team. Andy also serves on the Human Subject Research Committee (HSRC).

Background and Current Ministry

I earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Tulsa in 2003. After graduation, I served for two years as a missionary in Namibia, Africa where I taught science in a local secondary school and ministered with a local church. Upon return, I worked for several years as a worship leader and associate/youth pastor and then as a coordinator for a ministry for adults with intellectual disabilities.

In recent years, my primary role has been caring for my children as a stay-at-home dad while my wife launched her pharmacy career and I completed my studies. Along with an MAGL and DIS, I also earned a Graduate Diploma in Biblical Languages from Phillips Theological Seminary in 2014. Ministry during this time has been more informal in capacity, but I have stayed active teaching Sunday School, leading a young adult group, and serving as our church’s missions director.
