Program Time Limits
The MAGL must be completed within 10 years. The cohort sequence is paced at one 4-unit course per quarter, designed to work with the schedules of leaders in full-time ministry. Taking electives concurrent with the cohort sequence courses (in the MAGL, 8 units per quarter is full-time), the degree can be completed in 2.5 years.
To maintain active student status, you must take at least one class within four quarters (1 year) of your most recent course registration. This is especially important after the paced cohort sequence, when you are in the elective portion of your program.
Should you find your student status has become inactive, please contact the Office of Admissions to submit a reinstatement application. This short application will be reviewed by the MAGL Admissions Committee. Upon approval, you would be able to resume taking courses toward your degree.
Full Time Status
Full time course load for the MAGL program has been established at 8 units per quarter; part-time status is 4 units per quarter.
As part of MAGL's accreditation, students are required to come to a campus twice, for a total of 4 weeks. These four weeks consist of two on-campus seminars.
The first two-week seminar takes place in Colorado Springs, CO. The second two-week seminar takes place in Pasadena, CA.
Each on-campus seminar is comprised of two, 2-unit courses.
Detailed seminar preparation information is given in the online course prior to the seminar.
Non-US Citizen? You will be required to obtain an F-1 Visa to attend the on-campus seminars.
Pass/Fail Grade Mode Option
MAGL Students may choose to take up to 16 units, or 25% of their degree pass/fail. However students wishing to pursue doctoral work should take all courses for a letter grade. For more detailed information, see Grade Mode Registration Options.
The MAGL committee will accept a maximum of 36 quarter units (24 semester credits) of transfer credit. As there are several requirements in determining whether or not such credits can apply to the MAGL degree, students should first consult with the MAGL academic Services Administrator, email@example.com, both prior to taking courses at another institution and when making program completion plans.
