Quarter Units Required: 24
The Certificate of Christian Studies offers students an opportunity to complete a personalized, short-term non-degree program to meet a wide range of goals, from training for a specific church or parachurch ministry to personal and spiritual enrichment.
This certificate can be designed as a sampling of master’s-level courses from the Schools of Theology, Psychology, or Intercultural Studies. The program can help students assess the possibility of pursuing a seminary degree.
Students in this program include anyone interested in being better prepared theologically.
The Certificate of Christian Studies can be earned in as little as two quarters. However, many students pursue the program on a part-time basis and thereby extend their study over a longer period of time. In addition to the daytime schedule and normal ten-week quarters, a full range of evening courses and intensive ten-day courses are offered regularly, making possible a flexible program of study.
Any lay person will be better prepared and able to serve in their church, youth group, or small group.
Classes taken for this certificate can be used toward a master's degree.
The complete Certificate of Christian Studies can be earned in Pasadena, Colorado Springs, Houston, Irvine, Menlo Park, Phoenix, Sacramento, or Seattle, as well as via Distributed Learning.
Students may take all six courses through Distributed Learning.
