This certificate provides a way for students who may not be able to commit to a full degree an opportunity to study some basic insights into the dynamics of youth ministry.
Many students are currently working with youth in a church or on a college campus.
The Certificate in Youth Ministry can be earned within an academic year. However, many students pursue the program on a part-time basis and thereby extend their study over a longer period of time. In addition to the ten-week daytime schedule, campus courses are also offered in the evenings and as intensives, allowing for even more flexibility.
This certificate prepares students for work in youth ministry in local churches, parachurch organizations, or in high school and college groups.
Classes taken for this certificate can be used toward a master’s degree.
The Certificate in Youth Ministry is overseen by Fuller’s Institute of Youth Ministry at Fuller Colorado, and can be earned in Pasadena, Colorado Springs, Houston, Irvine, Menlo Park, Phoenix, Sacramento, or Seattle—in coordination with attending two specific seminars at the tri-annual National Youth Workers Convention.
Students may take any course through Distributed Learning that meets the requirements of this certificate.
