The MA in Worship, Theology, and the Arts degree is designed for people who wish to develop their understanding and skills in worship and the arts.
Distinctives
This degree is a specialized ministry program designed to prepare students for worship ministries in churches and for work as practicing artist/theologians. Students will have the opportunity to obtain a general foundation in biblical and theological studies, while focusing on the integration of the history and theology of Christian worship and a particular field of artistic expression. Similarly, those who wish to pursue work as practicing artists or workers in related fields will gain the historical, theological, and liturgical preparation that will enable them to work as practitioner/theologians.
Typical Students
Students pursuing the MA in Worship, Theology, and the Arts degree desire to work in church ministries relating to worship and arts, but who may not need a Master of Divinity degree. It is assumed that students entering into this area of study will have a strong background in worship and/or a particular form of art.
Normal Progression
This degree can be completed in two years. However, many pursue the program on a part-time basis and thereby extend their study over a longer period of time. In addition to daytime schedule and normal ten-week quarters, many evening courses and intensive ten-day courses are offered regularly, making possible a more flexible program of study. The final thesis/art project for this degree will be designed individually as a learning contract between the student and the Academic Director of the Brehm Center for Worship, Theology, and the Arts.
Ministries
The MA in Worship, Theology, and the Arts degree is designed to prepare students to serve as directors of worship arts and worship leaders at their local church or perhaps an art-related parachurch organization.
Further Studies
This degree does not solely prepare students for doctoral studies.

The complete MA in Worship, Theology, and the Arts degree can be earned in Pasadena. Partial coursework can be done at any Fuller campus or via distance learning.
Online Options
Students may take up to four courses through distance learning.
