Meet with a Chaplain for Spiritual Support

The Chaplains at Fuller are available to support you in your spiritual growth through prayer, pastoral care, and spiritual formation opportunities. Students often meet with a chaplain for pastoral care and prayer related to vocational discernment, challenges in relationships, spiritual questions and concerns, academic stress, or referral to a spiritual director or therapist.

Chaplain MeredithMeredith Ainley, Chaplain, School of Theology
Originally from Arkansas, Meredith studied English Literature at Oxford University in the UK, earned a BA in English from Williams Baptist, and moved to Los Angeles in 2006. Now a settled Southern Californian, Meredith is pursuing an MDiv from Fuller, while serving on staff as Director of Children, Youth, and Global Outreach at Westside Christian Fellowship, a non-denominational church in Santa Monica. She is passionate about the spiritual formation of both children and adults.

Chaplain Leah Fortson Leah Fortson, Chaplain, School of Psychology
Leah is a native of Los Angeles, CA, and currently resides in Pasadena, CA, where she is pursing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and an MA in Theology and Ministry at Fuller. She currently serves as a youth and young adult pastor within the Pentecostal church, and has been licensed as an Evangelist-Missionary within the Church of God in Christ. She is passionate about impacting the lives of others spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. Leah aims to integrate her clinical and spiritual training and development to bring holistic healing to the body of Christ.

Chaplain Anny Genato Rev. Anny Genato, Chaplain, Vocational Discernment
Anny graduated from Fuller with an MDiv after receiving a B.A. in Visual Art from the University of Houston. She received further training in Spiritual Direction from the Archdiocese of L.A. She is an ordained elder with the Free Methodist Church of North America. Anny served as pastor of a church in Glendale, CA, for seven years, but recently left in order to focus on Spiritual Direction and Pastoral Counseling. Her specialty is helping people discover who God created them to be and discern their unique gifts and calling. She lives in Pomona, CA, with her husband.   

Chaplain Patrick Patrick Butsapu Kakule, Chaplain, School of Intercultural Studies
Patrick is a Congolese (DRC) international student. He completed his undergraduate degree in Bible and Theology from Nairobi, and received a graduate Diploma in Mass Communication. He is now working on his MA in Intercultural Studies with an emphasis in International Development. Patrick is passionate about Evangelism and Development, and has done ministry in different contexts and cultures. He also has experience working with local and international development agencies, such as Tearfund (UK) in the D.R. Congo. Patrick loves traveling and meeting new people.

Medina Miguel Medina, Chaplain, Online Community Care
Miguel is originally from Guadalajara, Mexico and currently living in Alhambra, CA. He earned his ministerial credentials with the Southern California District Assemblies of God. He is currently pursuing his MDiv, with an emphasis in Pastoral and Evangelism in the Fuller Centro Latino program. He also serves as the lead pastor for the Latino community (Iglesia Escudo de la Fe) in the city of Pomona CA.  Miguel is passionate about reaching souls for Christ with a full gospel, meeting the needs of the people spiritually and physically.

NohJoshua Noh, Chaplain, International Students
Joshua Sunghan Noh originally came from South Korea and challenged cultural assimilation as an international student in the Unites States. He graduated from Fuller with an MDiv and also earned an B.A. in finance from California State University Northridge. At Fuller, he served as the leader of the Korean Student Association through faciliating prayer meetings, seminars, and worship services. He is the father of two lovely daughters and enjoys spending most of his time with them and his beautiful wife. Currently, he is serving at the Korean Immigration church as children's pastor, focusing on spiritual formation of 2nd younger generation children. He has a heart for building up and restoring broken immigrant families.
