Dear Fuller Alumni:

Eastertide...He is risen!...He is risen indeed! The women who came to the tomb to anoint Jesus's body were told, "He's not here. . . . He's gone ahead of you to Galilee. There you will see him (Mark 16:6,7)." Galilee was where these folks lived and worked. It was the place of everyday life for them--where they raised their families, made a living, found their friendships. There they struggled and laughed, loved and learned, lived and died. Jesus was alive and had preceded them to their Galilee. There they would see him!

It's in our everyday lives that he meets us too. The risen Christ goes ahead of us to the classroom, the office, the sanctuary. He meets us at the restaurant, the movie, the gym. The living Lord sits with us in the car, the waiting room, the prison cell. He's gone before us to the place of doubt or hour of loneliness, and he arrived early to the time of celebration or experience of joy. In every moment of the ordinary--or extraordinary--Jesus waits to meet us.

Christ is risen, risen indeed! Every blessing to you, there in your Galilee, for "there you will see him, just as he told you."
