Field Education offers a unique, theologically integrative opportunity for the seminary student. The internship or the practicum provides an environment that blends theological reflection, spiritual reflection, practical ministry, and academic learning that will inform and form students to become reflective practitioners who serve the Lord in any ministry context. Here are some recent examples of what students have said about their Field Education experience:
"The entire internship has been influential and valuable, and I
consider it the 'introduction to ministry' that I should have had when
I began pastoral ministry.'
Scott Arany

"...theology and ministry must coincide, or else the pastor and his or her flock is going to be in great peril. Fuller's model of partnering theology with praxis is a good one because the 'Ivory Tower' of seminary or formal ministry training can never be divorced from the real world where people live."
Dana Michael Krull
Associate Pastor, Church of the Foothills
Chaplain Candidate, California Army National Guard
"My Field Education experience through Fuller Theological Seminary has been spiritually enriching, and rewarding. Thank you for your obvious devotion to the students at Fuller."
