Dear Alums,
One of the great pleasures I have as director of the MA in Global
Leadership (MAGL) and the Doctor of Missiology (DMiss) is teaching (and
learning from!) men and women in Christian leadership around the world,
even as they stay fully engaged in their ministries while studying. These
seasoned practitioners--currently from every habitable continent--come
together in cohort to explore the theories, practices, and global contexts
of missional leadership. They are being well prepared to embrace their role
in the missio Dei and become missional change agents in their own
communities.
As the Church continues to grow and spread throughout the majority
world, it is in need of more and better leaders. Our vision with both the
MAGL and the DMiss is to further equip leaders who are committed and ready
to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
In this issue of AlumNews you will read about Fuller alum Moffat Zimba
who, along with his wife Doreen, founded Northrise University, Zambia's
first nationally recognized private university. Deprived of good
educational opportunities in his early years, Moffat readily acknowledges
the significant role of his education at Fuller Seminary on his work with
Northrise. You will delight in reading how this university has trained up
leaders who have impacted Zambia in a variety of positive ways.
May Moffat Zimba's story be an encouragement to you as you, too, seek to
think, live, and lead into the future.
