A Letter from the Director of Research 

The Travis Research Institute celebrates 10 years of existence in its current form and 20 years of biopsychosocial research in the School of Psychology at Fuller.  Progress over this period of time has been remarkable on all fronts – publications, research assistantships, grants and gifts, research infrastructure, laboratory space, and administrative support: 

• Aiming to keep abreast with diverse new psychological research and encourage new collaborations, TRI hosted over 175 Research Colloquia lectures over the past 20 years, featuring renowned national and international scientists. 
• In the past 2 years, TRI was able to support 45 student research assistants and fellows by providing over $300,000 in compensation. 
• The scholarly output of the TRI faculty indicates significant impact within the research domains represented (i.e. 35 papers in peer reviewed journals, 5 papers in non-peer reviewed journals, 19 other publications including books and book chapters, and 99 presentations at professional meetings over the past 2 years). 
• During the last 2 fiscal years, approximately $1,140,000 in research grant funds was available for research in the School of Psychology, representing continued growth compared to previous periods. 

We are particularly grateful to those granting agencies, foundations and individuals that have supported various research activities of TRI. As Director of the Travis Research Institute, I am proud of the excellent work that my colleagues and their bright and hard working graduate students have been doing.
