Center for Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation

Forming Christian Leaders for the Critical Work of Peace

We are living through a time of global upheaval. Deepening social, political, and theological divisions have become a defining feature of contemporary life within our communities, institutions, and even the church. These tensions are not abstract; they are deeply felt and increasingly urgent.

Established in response to this growing complexity and the increasing divisions across global and ecclesial life, the Center for Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation will equip Christian leaders with the theological vision, spiritual formation, and practical competencies necessary to serve faithfully in contexts of conflict and change. Rooted in Fuller’s evangelical and global heritage, the center seeks to reimagine peacemaking and conflict transformation as essential dimensions of Christian leadership and public witness.

Serving Those Called to Lead Amid Division

The center supports a global, interdisciplinary network of leaders committed to reconciling witness and faithful presence. We exist to serve:

  • Theologians and academics pursuing a robust theology of peace, justice, and reconciliation
  • Pastors and ministry leaders navigating division within congregations and communities
  • Christian nonprofit and institutional leaders seeking to foster trust, equity, and collaboration
  • Emerging leaders and students discerning vocational clarity in a polarized world
  • Donors and partners committed to advancing biblically rooted strategies for social healing

Faithful Leadership for a Divided World

Bible Study

Reimagining Christian Leadership

The Center for Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation—a new initiative of Fuller Seminary—equips and convenes Christian leaders to faithfully engage a world marked by division and difference. Rooted in biblical reconciliation and global conflict transformation, we believe peacebuilding is central, not peripheral, to the gospel. Hence, we emphasize relational repair, structural change, and moral imagination to help the Church lead with humility, courage, and Christ’s reconciling love.

Forming and Equipping Peacebuilders

Our work centers on three priorities: Formation, Collaboration, and Public Engagement. Through convenings, training, and programs in conflict transformation and Christian leadership, we work with Christian leaders and those called to transform conflict to co-create peacebuilding frameworks, and share resources that advance public theological dialogue. New offerings, events, and publications are shared regularly through this site and our newsletter.
