MA in Global Missional Leadership

School of Mission and Theology

Our rapidly changing world needs innovative missiologists who can embody the gospel ethically and effectively in intercultural contexts, both inside and outside the church. The Master of Arts in Global Missional Leadership (MAGML) is designed to equip both seasoned and aspiring leaders for various types of intercultural ministry. The program emphasizes both scholarship and praxis, giving students the foundational skills to pursue further studies or research opportunities, or to serve in practical ministries around the world. By thinking critically and creatively about reconciliation, MAGML graduates are able to demonstrate in word and deed the transforming work of Christ within and across cultures.

CHOOSE FROM TWO TRACKS

The MAGML is an 80-unit program (20 courses) that provides a solid framework of missiological disciplines: anthropology, Bible and mission, intercultural leadership, mission history, and theology of mission.

Students will choose one of two tracks, building upon their foundation in missiology in alignment with their vocational calling and interests.

The Intercultural Studies Track is intended for students with varied levels of intercultural exposure. Students in this track will develop their intercultural knowledge and practice with courses in world religion and mission, intercultural evangelism and discipleship, and holistic mission.

The Leadership Studies Track will help students go deeper with intercultural leadership tools and applied practice. Students will enhance their knowledge, skills, and experience in intercultural leadership in order to thrive in their current roles and/or prepare for greater responsibilities. Courses include Intercultural Change Dynamics, Intercultural Teams, Intercultural Teaching and Learning, and Intercultural Organizational Leadership.

FLEXIBILITY AND CUSTOMIZATION

The MAGML may be completed fully online. Students will engage in the program’s missiological formation without leaving home, work, or ministry—learning with and from classmates across the globe who offer diverse perspectives on intercultural concerns.

"I came from the Congo with two passions––evangelism and development––and professors like Bryant Myers and other experienced practitioners helped me bring those together. Fuller gave me opportunities to learn from people who are working in the areas I’m passionate about. It gave me a language behind my passion, preparing me to take a theology of development back to the Congo."
– Patrick Butsapu Kakule (MAICS ’16)
