About Aby
Aby Thomas has served as an ordained pastor in the Church of South India (CSI) since 2016. He is doing church planting among the Indian Diaspora Christians in the United States. He holds degrees in History (B.A.), Sociology (M.A.), Education (M.Ed.), and Divinity (B.D.) from India and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies. His research centers on Dalit epistemologies, food cultures, and missiology, with a doctoral project titled ‘Theology of Mission: Protecting Dalit Food Cultures Amidst Caste Discrimination and Cultural Nationalism in India’. He co-authored two Malayalam books and published several articles including “Reimagining Democratic Space in India to Entomb Fascism” and “Subaltern Earth Ethics.” Married to Blessy and father of Nova and Nehamia, he is guided by the Benedictine motto Ora et Labora (Pray and Labour).
