About Christopher
Christopher Oaks is an evangelical catholic Lutheran studying to become an academic theologian. He is currently in the second year of his PhD at Fuller Theological Seminary. He has a strong background in the social sciences, having earned his Bachelors at the University of California San Diego. He furthered this during his MDiv, where at Fuller, he would specialize in the Old Testament. After discernment, he shifted vocational emphasis to Systematic Theology for his ThM at Luther Theological Seminary, building on additional interdisciplinary strengths in Historical Theology, Church History, and Philosophy. Christopher combines this academic background with a life background where he was surrounded by retired missionaries when he was growing up at his home church in Claremont, California. They provided him with vivacious theological insight and guidance. He is currently studying under Veli-Matti Kärkkäinen.
