About Debi
Debi Yu is a doctoral candidate in Systematic Theology. Her research engages trauma theology, with particular attention to embodiment, memory, and the limits of classical theological accounts of suffering. Drawing on interdisciplinary conversations in trauma studies, feminist theology, and social Trinitarian thought, her work examines how theology can more faithfully address the ongoing, relational, and bodily dimensions of trauma.
Her dissertation explores the constructive potential of Trinitarian theology for trauma discourse, arguing that relational accounts of divine life offer critical resources for rethinking divine presence, suffering, and communal healing in contexts marked by violence and rupture. Her broader interests include theological anthropology, spiritual formation, and the relationship between theology and contemporary culture.
