About Hayford

I was born into the Pentecostal/Charismatic movement in Ghana. As a descendant of an evangelist, I tread the path, trailed the passion, and commitment of my ancestors, which ultimately led me to the mission field of Germany. Consequently, 28 years of pastoring a predominantly white native German independent congregation I founded, the racial waves of mission and missionary, and whose’ right to be a missionary and missionize whom, blew me into the PhD field. Since then, I have been walking through the labyrinth of race and ethnicity within the bigger picture of mission to make sense of how they relate to God’s global aspiration for creation. Additionally, to gain insight into the extent of Intersection or disconnectedness between the academy and particular denominational churches about race and ethnicity in light of global missions. My research focuses on the Relationship between the German Protestant Church (EKD) and African reverse migratory missionaries living in Germany.
