About Jade
Jade A. Lee is 2nd year Ph.D. student in Intercultural Studies, a wife, and mother of 4.
Jade’s family migrated to Philadelphia during the abolitionist movement, led by their sister, Harriet (Araminta) Tubman. Harriet Tubman is Jade’s third great grand aunt.
In the spirit of her family’s call to abolition, Jade has given her life to service. She sees her studies as an extension of that tradition. Her studies at Hampton University, for example, were focused on African American healing through black church faith traditions as seen in African American fiction. Likewise, her MDIV studies at Fuller, were focused on African American healing through historical faith witness.
For the past 20 years, Jade has combined her studies with practical ministry outreach, following the call to urban, collegiate and global missions. She is now excited to build on these rich experiences, obtaining a PhD to help heal the trauma of the black community through Africana historical representation.
