About Julie

Julie is researching Christian evangelism practices in Thailand among Thai Buddhists and cognitive psychology on intuition in evangelism.

She lived in Beijing and Tianjin, China for 4 years, and Daegu, South Korea for 1 year, studying Asian Christianity and teaching English. Julie served as the Missions Coordinator for Fuller’s Presbyterian Ministries, 2014-2015. She copyedited The Oxford Handbook for Mission Studies (2022) and served as administrator-in-training for Fuller’s 2023 Missiological Lectures on deconstructing and reconstructing evangelism. She also TA’d for the corresponding Fuller course and is copy-editing the resulting book.

Her field research in Chiang Mai, Thailand, will focus on intuitive cognitions shaping judgments of Thai folk Buddhists and converts about their experiences with Thai Christian evangelism practices. This research will inform her PhD dissertation and future teaching as a missions professor at an Asian or international seminary.
