Bio
Jordan Kassel joined Fuller as affiliate faculty in 2020 before transitioning to faculty as an instructor in marriage and family therapy and the MSMFT program chair. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, clinician, supervisor, and educator teaching in the areas of clinical foundations, group therapy, marital therapy, and integration formation, with a focus on the formation of therapists who are relationally grounded, ethically attuned, and integrative in their clinical practice.
Kassel’s clinical and scholarly interests include group therapy and multifamily group therapy initiatives, multigenerational family therapy, and family systems and relational approaches to care. He has particular interest in spiritual identity development in emerging adults, as well as grief and loss among teens and emerging adults. His work is shaped by trauma-informed and evidence-based practices, with Restoration Therapy serving as a central clinical framework.
His core passion is equipping rising clinicians with the skills, knowledge, and formation necessary to serve as agents of healing. In his role as program chair, Kassel provides leadership and oversight for the MSMFT faculty and staff, with a commitment to cultivating clinicians who are therapeutically competent and spiritually, relationally, and emotionally healthy. His clinical experience spans school-based services, DMH-funded community mental health, church-based settings, private practice, in-home therapy, and residential treatment.
As a clinical instructor, Kassel oversees the MFT program’s Clinical Foundations Labs, leads integration formation and clinical consultation groups, and is deeply committed to the integration of theology, psychology, and clinical formation, as well as the supervision and mentoring of clinicians-in-training. Alongside his academic role, he maintains an active clinical practice and facilitates multifamily and parent support groups within adolescent intensive outpatient settings.
