The Office of the General Counsel (OGC) serves as the attorney for the Seminary and represents the Board of Trustees, President, Vice Presidents, Deans and others acting on behalf of the Seminary and in the course and scope of their employment with the Seminary.

The Office of General Counsel strives to advance the mission of the Seminary by providing sound decision making in all issues that face the Seminary.
Generally, and assuming there is no conflict, legal matters relating to the Seminary should be brought by faculty through their Dean or Chief Academic Officer, staff through their supervisor or director, and students through the Dean of Students.
Note that questions relating to the Seminary’s business insurance and commercial insurance, and notary servicers (for Seminary business) should be directed initially to Risk Management.

The OGC is not permitted to serve as legal counsel or provide advice to any Seminary faculty or staff unless the issue involves an employee acting as a representative of the Seminary. The OGC is never permitted to represent or provide legal advice to students. The OGC does not provide legal advice to individuals subject to Seminary investigation or who have filed a grievance against the Seminary.
