Fuller Theological Seminary Celebrates Professor Veli-Matti Kärkkäinen’s Honorary Doctorate

This distinguished recognition will be officially conferred during the University’s upcoming Conferment Ceremony.

The honorary doctorate celebrates Professor Kärkkäinen’s significant contributions to the field of theology, marked by his extensive research and impactful publications. His work is particularly noted for its ecumenical perspective and its role in advancing global theology and interfaith dialogue. This accolade not only honors Professor Kärkkäinen’s remarkable career but also underscores Fuller’s global impact on theological education.

President David Emmanuel Goatley expressed his enthusiasm for Kärkkäinen’s achievement, stating, “This honor bestowed upon Professor Kärkkäinen reflects his extraordinary dedication to theology and his influential role in shaping interfaith understanding worldwide.
